Stacey Frick in an airport

Life is a crowded airport.

November 18, 20252 min read

Lately, the airports have been a mess. Long lines. Staff not showing up.

Flights delayed or canceled without warning.

People stranded in terminals, exhausted, frustrated, wondering how something so designed for order could fall into such chaos.

And I’ve been watching all of it, not just as a traveler, but as a human being who studies patterns, systems, and the way we move through our lives.

And right now, airports look a whole lot like us.

We have moments when the “staff” of our inner world doesn’t show up.

Confidence calls out sick.

Focus disappears without notice.

Patience misses the morning shift.

Our internal gate agents are overworked.

Our emotional baggage carousel is jammed.

And the flights—our plans, our momentum, our expectations—get delayed or outright canceled.

But here’s the thing:

A canceled flight is not a failed journey.

It’s a forced recalibration.

Anyone who has ever experienced a massive flight delay knows this:

You can stomp your feet, demand answers, or get angry at the gate agent… but the plane still isn’t leaving until the conditions are right.

Life works the same way.

Sometimes the “conditions” of your inner world, like the environment, the readiness, the alignment, aren’t prepared for takeoff.

Sometimes the delay is the protection.

Sometimes the reroute is the miracle.

Sometimes the long line is the pause that saves you.

And sometimes a complete rewrite of your itinerary is the only way to get you to the place you were actually meant to go.

This is the essence of the Empowerment Revolution:

You stop fighting the delay and start reading the data.

You stop blaming the system and start upgrading your own.

You become the author of the itinerary, not the passenger hoping it works out.

When you hit chaos, overwhelm, or the sense that “nothing is taking off,” remember this:

You’re not stuck.

You’re being re-sequenced.

You’re being grounded until you’re safe to fly.

Your gate may have changed.

Your timing may have shifted.

But your destination?

Still there.

Still 100% possible!
